All About Park Jimin

Jimin154

Jimin’s birthday was a few days ago on the 13th, so I’ve decided to do an info post about him just like I did for Namjoon during his birthday. Let’s learn about our favorite mochi (Korean food that’s known for lookin cute or adorable and a popular nickname for Jimin).

Park Jimin was born in Busan, South Korea, the second biggest city in the country, on October 13, 1995. He has two parents and one younger brother. In South Korea, you are only required to complete elementary school, after that the child chooses if they want to continue on to middle school and also chooses which school they wish to go to based on what type of courses they offer. When Jimin was preparing to enter middle school, he had taken up a great fascination with contemporary dance and decided to study that, eventually entering Busan School of Arts. He was top of his class both in dance and academics. There was a point when his parents could not afford his tuition, but his teachers still allowed him to attend school for free because he had so much potential. In 2012, at the age of 16, his dance teacher heard about the auditions for BigHit Entertainment and encouraged him to participate. He did so and was immediately accepted because of his dance skills. However, coming from a contemporary background, he struggled with the style of dancing BTS was expected to do. He also did not have any experience in singing or rapping, which caused even more struggles during his trainee years and he was almost rejected from BTS on multiple occasions. Luckily he made it in as the main dancer and lead vocalist, and his singing has only improved as the years went by.

Here are some fun facts about Jimin:

He was born on a Friday the 13th, which explains this picture.

He is extremely flexible and can do the splits.

He is the shortest member at 5’8.

He is fairly clumsy and once kicked himself in the head.

Although he’s from the area of Korea that is known for its beaches and seafood, he’s not a very strong swimmer nor does he like seafood.

He has struggled with an eating disorder (no verbal confirmation, but it is fairly obvious) since debut. He’s known for skipping meals constantly and even admitted to eating only one proper meal every 10 days while preparing for their comeback with Blood Sweat & Tears in 2016.

All of the members say he works the hardest. Back when they were just trainees, he would only sleep about three hours a day, the rest of his time being spent in the practice room when he wasn’t at school.

He is extremely shy and gets flustered easily, but he also loves to be praised. He’ll even go so far as to bluntly ask for the other members to acknowledge that he has done something.

At the 2016 Idol Star Athletic Championships, he was voted by female idols as the male idol they most wanted waiting for them at the finish line.

Jimin is one of the most beautiful people in the entire world, both inside and out, and he deserves the world.
